Intercom over IP

Why Commend IoIP?

The Digital (DSP) Advantage

Commend vs. Telephone and other Analog Intercom

  1. Intercom over IP (IoIP). Commend intercom is completely network compatible.
    1. Exchange servers as well as individual calling stations can cost effectively dwell on Ethernet LAN. This saves on wiring costs and brings enterprise wide system management to the owner/user.
    2. Commend can also use hard wire or fiber to connect to stations and mix all modes of connectivity in one common server, the only system available with such flexibility.

  1. Commend provides full Supervision of remote station Microphones and Speakers with automatic test and reporting as a standard feature.
    1. This results in superior life safety and liability protection
    2. Saves on manpower and total cost of ownership by eliminating manual testing

3.      Commend’s connection speed is instant.  On a LAN or direct wire (CAT 5) Commend connects in 100 Milliseconds, end to end, at the push of a call button.

  1. Voice Quality (intelligibility of audio): Commend electronics is far superior in both fidelity and frequency band reproduced resulting in very clear audio.

    1. Commend reproduces audio in a 7 KHZ band vs. 3 KHZ by telephone devices.
    2. Reduces complaints by users of telephone dialer-based devices in security applications, understand what’s being said.

  1. Commend has No dependency on VOX switching:
    1. Frequent analog complaint is the involuntary switching of audio  in and out, “clipping” words off because of sudden shifts to high ambient noise, such as car or truck traffic nearby.
    2. Commend’s patented “Open Duplex”  defeats this problem with DSP technology that has no dependency on VOX switching so is  less affected by ambient noise spikes.

  1. Audio Threshold Alarm, (scream alarm) built-in to all digital  stations-a software function, no extra charge, no extra wire or components.

  1. Two relays on all digital substations, one output and one input
    1. Access Control or opening locks or gates
    2. Auxiliary inputs from devices such as motion sensors or contacts to automatically “place a call”.

  1. ISO 9001 Certified manufacturing quality.  ISO – International Standards Organization is a very stringent certification that can only be awarded for adherence to the highest quality standards in every step of the manufacturing process. The results are Superior ruggedness, robustness and reliability in the products. Example 50 year MTBF on 811 master stations.

  1. Superior flexibility for integration into other elements of security system

    1. CCTV and access control integration
    2. Open architecture, ODBC compliant, APIs and SDKs available to other manufacturers.

  1. Superior flexibility with regard to communication network utilization
    1. hard wire
    2. fiber optics
    3. Ethernet
    4. POTS telephone line
    5. Combinations to build redundancy

  1. Superior control options, interfacing to other devices,
    1. Gates
    2. Lights
    3. Telephone
    4. Mobile two way radios
    5. Software, RS232/422 or relays interface.

  1. Easy Expandability in cost effective increments:
    1. 2 to 16 to 32
    2. 48 to 96 and so on to thousands
    3. Ssimply one remote station added to a LAN port via use of Commend’s station network adaptor.

  1. System Control and Management:
    1. Call logging with time and date stamping
    2. Facility- maps with calling device location
    3. Rremote management of other servers and stations are all standard options with Commend’s ComWin software.
